A new microprocessor-based wire guidance system is now available for this company's SP 3000 Series Stockpiler, a 3,000 lb capacity orderpicker with lifting heights from 126-to 312-in.

The manufacturer states that the new guidance system provides cost savings for customers while utilizing a four-step electronic calibration that is performed through the used of the providers service terminal and requires about five to 10 minutes to complete. Features of the system include:

  • Four-coil sensor to improve acquisition ability. The bars feature a durable steel housing to provide additional resistance to damage.
  • Operation on frequencies ranges of 5.2- to 10-kHz without changing or modifying components.
  • Diagnostic support including hardware and software self-test and run-time monitors, including a status code log for ease of service.
  • A manual steering mode alarm that detects active guide path wires.
  • Travel speed that is automatically clamped to 1.8 mph until acquisition is complete. Speed is reduced to 1.5 mph when low or varied field strength is detected.

The manufacturer states that the new guidance system can also reduce components, interconnections, and adjustments.
