Warehouse Of The Future: Geekplus And LPP Logistics Transform Retail Logistics With Intelligent Automation
Warsaw, Poland /PRNewswire/ - Geekplus, a global leader in warehouse robotics, has expanded its partnership with LPP Logistics, the in-house logistics service provider for LPP Group, a multinational company operating in the fashion industry. Together, they are expanding the "warehouse of the future" based on automation that accelerates and increases the resilience of retail order fulfillment across Europe. By transforming one successful deployment into a broader, repeatable model, this partnership helps LPP Logistics build a flexible automation strategy that can adapt to the current needs of the retail business and evolve with changing customer needs, seasonal demand and expansion.
LPP Logistics uses a combination of Geekplus technologies tailored to local operational requirements. The program builds on Geekplus’ experience deploying large fleets of RoboShuttle and P-Series robots across Europe and applies best practices for system design and implementation across multiple operations, reducing integration complexity and enabling faster and more predictable start-up.
Shaping the future of European retail logistics with intelligent automation
As European retail continues to grow and transform, so do customer expectations for speed, accuracy and reliability. Especially during peak seasons, there is an enormous increase in demand that needs to be managed operationally. Geekplus’ solution, delivered by LPP Logistics, is designed to meet this challenge with a highly scalable, robotics-based order fulfillment system that can adapt to how LPP’s fashion assortment and SKU diversity evolve.
Poland plays a strategically important role in European retail and logistics. As LPP continues to strengthen its distribution capabilities in the country, automation is becoming a critical means of ensuring flexible capacity, operational resilience and long-term sustainable order fulfillment performance.
Automation built for fashion retail
Automation provides 1.4 million automated high-bay storage locations and a measured increase in efficiency of 99%. The system is not designed to replace people, but to improve LPP Logistics’ operations by combining automation with expert human supervision. It reduces repetitive manual handling and walking miles, so employees can focus on monitoring and resolving non-standard situations. This contributes to improving working conditions while developing operational capabilities in robotics control and problem solving. In addition, the advanced Geekplus operating system allows LPP Logistics to continuously monitor and manage the flow of goods.
At two LPP Logistics facilities, Geekplus robots work together to efficiently store and move a wide range of fashion products. More than 1,600 autonomous robots work between racks and workstations, servicing hundreds of thousands of storage locations and crates.
The solution also maximizes the use of the warehouse in the vertical direction, with storage reaching a height of approximately 12 meters.
At both locations, these solutions help LPP Logistics maximize warehouse height and maintain flexibility while maintaining throughput performance for a wide range of retail inventory items and crate flows, supporting both daily retail order fulfillment and more flexible responses to seasonal fluctuations.
An order fulfillment platform that can grow with LPP Logistics
Scalability is a key element of the project. The Geekplus systems are designed so that LPP Logistics can gradually expand robot capacity, the number of workstations and overall throughput in line with seasonal peaks, changing storage requirements and the growth of the number of warehouse items.
Geekplus' Robot Management System enables centralized coordination of large robot fleets and supports over 1,000 robots in a single operation. This helps maintain operational continuity as warehouses expand, which is essential in a retail environment where flexibility and reliability directly impact customer service and business results.
Hong Yu, CEO of Geekplus Europe, said of the partnership: “Geekplus is proud to grow together with LPP Logistics and expand our warehouse automation strategy to two fulfillment centers in Poland. One of the biggest challenges for retailers is to ensure fast and reliable fulfillment of high-volume fashion orders while maintaining sufficient flexibility to handle seasonal demand and assortment changes. Geekplus helps bridge this gap by enabling high-capacity fulfillment of fashion orders with high storage density today, while providing LPP Logistics with the flexibility to gradually increase capacity.”
Sebastian Sołtys, CEO of LPP Logistics, added: “The choice of Geekplus was driven by the desire to bring measurable value to our order fulfillment model – both by improving day-to-day operations and by strengthening our confidence in our ability to expand capacity. Geekplus technology helps us increase the efficiency of our goods flow and throughput, while reducing repetitive manual handling. Equally important, the way the system was implemented gave us the confidence we needed to expand it to other operations. With Geekplus as our partner, we can already ensure reliable performance today, while maintaining the flexibility to expand in line with LPP’s growing fashion range and changing seasonal demand, ultimately contributing to a better customer experience.”
At both locations, Geekplus supported a gradual system rollout focused on maintaining business continuity and minimizing disruption so that LPP Logistics could continue to meet customer expectations throughout the transition.
