VOS Logistics joins the Transwide platform

VOS LOGISTICS has chosen to integrate with the TRANSWIDE European transport execution platform

The Netherlands, Oss, February 07, 2002 - Vos Logistics, one of Europe's largest asset based logistics providers has selected Transwide, Europe's leading hub for transportation execution, to electronically connect with its customers and to provide execution functionalities.

Vos Logistics devotes considerable investment to IT, concept development and managerial development. In close collaboration with shippers, Vos Logistics not only plays a key role in the effective management of the supply chain, it also aims to integrate the various parties involved to guarantee the highest levels of service.

Each shipper has always had its own ways of communicating call-offs (or transport orders) to Vos Logistics, which had costly implications. Vos was looking for a solution which could leverage its existing technology and would offer one flexible point of connectivity to shippers. In addition, the required platform also had to provide additional functionalities to further automate transportation execution processes.

The Transwide platform is integrated with Vos Logistics sophisticated internal systems which provides a single electronic connectivity platform to shippers. Day-to-day transport orders are processed via the platform, thus simplifying and standardizing procedures, providing unprecedented levels of data capture and reducing errors in the process. Ultimately, the connectivity will further enhance the service capability of Vos, enabling the company to further leverage it's already advanced internal technology.

"Connectivity and transparency are of great importance to Vos Logistics, witnessed by our continuous investment in technology. Thanks to the Transwide platform, we now have the opportunity to connect our internal execution systems to our customers' systems. In addition, the Transwide execution functionalities help us further extend our supply chain execution capabilities to provide even better services" says Walter Kusters Director Vos Management and Logistical Development.

"The value created by our execution platform is being recognised by major industry incumbents and specifically by leading European Logistics Providers. " says Arnaud van Wijck, CEO of Transwide. Transwide was created in June 2000 to offer transportation execution solutions in Europe. Transwide has developed advanced functionality to enable the automation of transportation execution processes. The Transwide solutions can directly be integrated into shippers and logistics providers ERP systems.
