This company's new spiral conveyors offer a small footprint and substantial space savings compared to conventional methods, according to the manufacturer.

These spiral conveyors are designed to provide continuous vertical conveyance and high throughput. They feature new overlapping slats that can accommodate a wide variety of load types. Load capacity is 75-lb per linear foot for speeds up to 200 fpm. The slats come in three widths—12-, 16- and 20-in. — and can be furnished with friction inserts to accommodate slick products such as plastic totes or frozen items.

The standard angle of incline is just 9°, which safeguards against products sliding or tumbling during operation. In addition, the spiral conveyors require only one drive motor, which can result in substantial savings for controls and systems integration.

Several versions are available and standard models have a 5-ft/3-in., 6-ft/1-in., and 7-ft/2-in. outside diameter depending on load width. The conveyors can be delivered in galvanized, stainless steel, or washdown versions suitable for food handling. The spirals can also be made for low temperature and freezer applications.
