SPAN-Group Delivers Advanced Infor Warehouse Management System To Maxx Logistics
Maxx Logistics is a new emerging third-party logistics (3PL) provider that quickly established itself as a dynamic enterprise with promising future.
The U.A.E based company is a result of a joint venture between Al Majdouie, one of the oldest logistics providers in the Saudi Kingdom, Jinghi Transport, a major transportation company in China, and So Safe, a prominent name in the field of water purification and filtration industry.
Maxx Logistics has recently invested in a 3PL Warehouse Management System supplied and implemented by SPAN. The integration of the system coincides with the expansion plan that the company is currently conducting. 'We view this new technology as an important area of focus for our company. The software meets our drive of adding value to our customers. We needed a system that is flexible, scaleable and a company that understands how to adapt to the ever-changing market and SPAN has proven this with Infor WMS product suite,' comments Mr. Mohammad Shaiq, General Manager at Maxx Logistics.
The implementation of Infor WMS enables Maxx Logistics to manage different customer accounts each potentially having different business requirements.
'Infor WMS was designed to control multiple owners' product under one roof within the same application. It provides the flexibility to run individual customer accounts and individual products within a customer account,' explains Business Development Manager at SPAN, Mr. Kamel El-Ghossaini.
Along with the mentioned benefits, the system provides additional solution and distribution services offerings, and establishes a deliverable capability to generate a new revenue stream through the addition of outsourced logistics services. One of the major features of Infor WMS is the 3PL Billing & Costing module that can create and manage charges for warehousing services. Primarily designed for 3PL operations, the system automatically records charges for Handling In, Initial Storage, Recurring Storage, and Handling Out.
Other strong features of the software include the Arabic Language Pack, Dubai Jebel Ali customs documentation module and Boomi Integration Platform that have been developed and added to the Infor WMS by SPAN R&D.
Commenting on the supplementary modules, Mr. El-Ghossaini says 'Maxx Logistics has gained efficiency by taking advantage of the additional systems. The BOOMI Integration Platform provides MAXX the ability to connect its Infor WMS system with its internal ERP as well as to their customers and allow the company to take fast ownership of new and cost effective integration needs.'
As cost reduction is becoming critical for enterprise operations, the integration of these modules has become a perfect tool for companies who seek greater oversight into transactions.
'Our expectations are high. We needed to expand our capabilities and compress time to improve efficiencies and believe our project partnership with SPAN has given us the vision to see the big picture. We believe no company can achieve positive results without the help of a dedicated team of professionals. We were proud to work with a company that has the independence to recommend and implement the technology and solutions for now and in the future,' says Mr. Shaiq
With a 25.000 CBM storage facility in Jebel Ali South fully up and running, MAXX Logistics has started planning for the construction of a 30.000 CBM temperature controlled facility. 'We are confident that with the help of our dedicated and experienced staff, unmatchable international support from the company's owners organization and one of the most flexible and scaleable Warehouse Management System, Maxx will be able to provide cost-effective logistical services to its clients,' ends Mr. Shaiq.
