RF Code, Savi Technology partner to integrate offerings

RF Code Inc. and Savi Technology have formed a partnership to combine RF Code's Spider system into the Savi SmartChain supply-chain visibility system.

RF Code, a provider of radio-frequency identification (RFID) products that is based in Mesa, AZ, said it had been named a Savi Enabling Technology Partner. It said that means the simultaneous-tracking technology of the Spider is available as part of the Savi product portfolio of real-time asset tracking, monitoring, and location solutions.

RF Code said that Savi Technology had tested and qualified a range of automated data-collection technologies use in SmartChain service. It said the product is designed to provide users in any manufacturing, processing or distribution supply chain with real-time access to asset data through any Web browser.

According to RF Code, the Spider system is a 303.8 MHz RFID portable-asset tracking product. It features small, long-range tags and readers. Tags can be read up to 400 ft away and pinpoint position to within 20 ft. The Spider tag's small footprint and three- to five-year battery allow it to be mounted nearly anywhere, the company said.
