ProLogis to lease Rotterdam DC space to NCR

Logistics-facilities and –services provider ProLogis said this week that it would lease its 91,490-square-foot Distribution Center III in the Eemhaven Distripark in the Netherlands, to NCR Corp.

NCR provides data-warehousing, financial, retail and telecommunications services. Point-of-sale systems are among NCR's offerings. The company also provides high-performance scanners to a variety of markets.

ProLogis said that the Eemhaven facility is one of two solution-delivery centers that NCR operates in Europe. It will support NCR's European retail, data-warehousing and networking services. The arrangement, the terms of which were not disclosed, was the first between ProLogis and NCR.

The Eemhaven Distripark was selected because it provides easy access to excellent links byroad, water and air to NCR's European customer base. The ProLogis facilities in the Eemhaven spot are 100 percent occupied and cover 410,000 square feet, the company said.

ProLogis spelled out this strategy: Develop logistic facilities at the three Distriparks in Rotterdam – in Maasvlakte, Botlek and Eemhaven to support growth at the port. As of earlier this week, ProLogis had more than 1,163,000 square feet of space under development or leased to international logistics businesses in the port.

As of Sept. 30, ProLogis owned, managed or was developing more than 188.7 million square feet of distribution facilities in 98 global markets.
