Pfastship Worldwide Logistics, Inc develops, markets, and supports the award-winning Pfastship®-2000 family of integrated, electronic shipping software modules. Pfastship-2000 provides a complete shipping solution that enhances every aspect of your logistics operation:
  • from the warehouse floor with support for wireless bar code wands and automatic document preparation,
  • to the "front office" operations of sales and customer support with real-time, detailed shipment status,
  • all the way to your customer's incoming logistics with UCC §128 compliance and electronic Advanced Shipping Notifications.
Because we develop the product ourselves, we can offer customers absolutely seamless integration with their existing order entry/ERP/accounting and warehouse management systems. Both our AS/400 and Windows NT products use native integration technologies and are developed in the "native" language of that platform. We are a IBM Business Partner and a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider.

History
In the early 1980's shipping systems were generally dedicated systems marketed by companies like Pitney Bowes and Frieden. Around 1984 Micro General introduced the first standalone systems. Unfortunately, these systems had limited features and virtually no interfaces to existing systems.

By the early 90's, the major small package carriers were developing "captive" systems. While these systems streamlined the paperwork involved (especially for the carrier!), they created one more "island of information" because they didn't integrate with other systems. And only the shipping department could verify delivery, track status or quote rates.

Around this same time, in 1987, C. Eugene Cook II and Charles E. Cook III, the founders of Pfastship, purchased a small software company that had written an LTL shipping package. They identified a market niche consisting of companies that wanted to completely automate their logistics operations.

By the mid-90's ERP and integrated solutions were revolutionizing corporate networks. The value of integration was now well understood and MIS departments as well as logistics, sales and operations executives were looking for a solution—that is, an integrated suite of software, offered by a vendor with experience on their hardware platform, that could help them not only save time in the shipping department, but also bring shipping information to front office operations like sales and customer service as well as accounting.

By this time, Pfastship had invested several million dollars rewriting the package to provide just these capabilities. Pfastship was in a position to offer integration to all the major order entry/ERP/accounting and warehouse management systems. And it's flexible architecture allows it to integrate into any other system, including "home grown" packages.

Since this time, Pfastship has released a steady stream of new features: extending the benefits of integrated shipping to the front office (both for rate shopping and tracking), support for international shipments, and electronic transmission of shipping and billing information. In 1998 we delivered our first Windows NT native implementation.

Today, Pfastship-2000 is recognized as the premier integrated, electronic shipping solution. With a modular architecture that lets you tailor the product to your specific situation, Pfastship-2000 is used by companies in virtually every industry from retail to heavy equipment.
