Optimum Logistics delivers leading supply chain management solution in bulk logistics

Optimum Logistics, a leader in bulk liquid logistics applications, is pleased to announce a major new release of its supply chain solution, TransLink™. The new release features an inventory-forecasting module that integrates terminal, tank, product and shipment information for inventory reporting and alerts across all locations. An innovative new user interface significantly improves look and feel, navigation, and ease of use. A comprehensive trade documentation solution, including electronic bills of lading, will be offered this fall in a subsequent release.

TransLink is the only supply chain application primarily focused on bulk marine transportation and related logistics management. Since its first live release in April 2000, over 15 multinational chemical companies have been using TransLink. The new release reflects Optimum's commitment to continually enhancing TransLink to meet the needs of its customers. Offered as a hosted model or Application Service Provider, TransLink supports a community of shippers and logistics service providers that share the same application, enhancements and technology platform for maximum collaboration and information management. Alerts, shipment arrangements and negotiations, event management and documentation are key features of the TransLink application. Optimum Logistics also offers its clients seamless integration with Aspen Technology's upstream supply chain solutions to enable the industry's only end-to-end solution.

"Optimum's TransLink product provides a unique logistics solution that leverages their depth of experience in marine transportation, logistics and e-business to support our marine requirements," said Jeff Hemmer, VP Supply Chain, Lyondell Chemical Company and Optimum customer. "Optimum goes beyond shipment visibility and execution efficiencies. By combining all supply chain data in one platform, Lyondell can achieve the necessary information visibility to drive our supply chain optimization models. Integration with our SAP and customer-facing applications further supports our goals of streamlining the business and achieving sizeable supply chain cost reductions."

"TransLink has been well received as a full-featured supply chain application with potential to further support network optimization and contract management. The experience of our founding company, Stolt-Nielsen S.A., coupled with the expertise of our equity partner, Aspen Technology, distinguishes Optimum as the industry solution in petrochemicals. With the future completion of our global freight procurement and management application, TransBid™, and our joint offerings with AspenTech, Optimum will offer a full suite of products from purchasing to Capable to Promise, Available to Promise, and Vendor-Managed Inventory solutions. We feel that this breadth and commitment will continue to distinguish Optimum as the single solution partner of choice in bulk logistics management," stated Sam Cooperman, CEO, Optimum Logistics.
