Navis Launches Navis Cargo Tracker

Navis, one of the leader in enterprise software solutions for logistics asset visibility, control and optimization, last week launched Navis Cargo Tracker at TOC Europe in Istanbul, Turkey. Navis Cargo Tracker provides real-time global shipment and asset visibility across the supply chain continuum allowing users to collaborate and intelligently respond to supply chain events.

Through seamless integration with Navis' Edge Manager solution, Navis Cargo Tracker leverages the power of passive or active RFID, GPS and other sensor based technologies to automate data collection and operational processes associated with shipments. Built on the Navis N4 technology platform, the new product continues Navis' dominance in software innovation in supply chain solutions.

Cargo Tracker provides real-time web based visibility to the location, status, condition and security of cargo shipments while also providing direct control of logistics assets associated with the shipment. Cargo Tracker streamlines the flow of goods "connecting the docks" between multiple supply chain nodes allowing users to prioritize and manage resources so their operations can intelligently respond to changes or disruptions in the flow of shipments. Designed for shippers and logistics services providers, Cargo Tracker solution supports multiple modes of transportation such as shipping, trucking, rail and air as well as multiple assets types including ISO containers, ULDs, and other returnables.

Through advanced web services/XML or EDI, Cargo Tracker can be easily integrated with WMS, TMS, routing and other supply chain execution systems for improved cross network visibility. Moreover, Cargo Tracker integrates bar code, passive and active RFID, GPS, biometrics and OCR through Navis' industry leading middleware, Navis Edge Manager. Edge Manager automates the collection of data, manages edge devices and uses this data to automate operational processes.

"Navis Cargo Tracker eliminates bottlenecks across your supply chain while simultaneously increasing facility, asset and labor utilization," said Jim Burleigh, Senior Vice President of Products, Navis. "Our software accelerates shipment handling processes from stuffing to de-vanning, while ensuring accuracy of movements through all nodes in the supply chain."

About Navis
Navis is the global leader in proven, mission-critical solutions that provide asset and cargo visibility, control and optimization within the global supply chain market. Founded in 1988, Navis was the first company to automate marine terminal operating systems (TOS), improving productivity, velocity and visibility of cargo movement through port and intermodal facilities. Today, Navis continues to deliver advanced technologies to supply chain nodes in more than 50 countries. Navis SPARCS N4 is the world's leading TOS that enables logistics providers, such as APM Terminals, APL, and Dubai Ports World, to meet or exceed their business goals.
