The new Mobile Spider Tracking System combines the functionality of the developer's original Spider tracking system, including RFID readers, tags, and Tag Capture software with the Symbol PPT-2740 handheld scanning device. This combination incorporates barcode and RFID technology into a comprehensive asset monitoring system.
The system features small and lightweight tags labeled with a barcode identifier that are affixed to an asset and scanned. Once scanned, the tag Ids can be stored in a legacy database for future reference. In addition, through the use of the device's reader localization capability, an asset can be tracked within a feet of its actual position and its identity verified with the built-in scanner on the PPT-2740.
