MMOG: A Proven Tool For Self-Assessment And Continuous Improvement
White Paper: Global MMOG/LE Introduction
The MMOG is a self-assessment process developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to provide consistent methodology for evaluating supplier performance, identifying weaknesses, and focusing improvement efforts.
The Global MMOG/LE incorporates the Odette Logistics Evaluation (OLE), developed by AIAG's European counterpart, to provide a single global standard for self-assessment. It contains recommended business practices for materials management, a self-assessment tool to identify materials system strengths and weaknesses, and a weighted score sheet (an Excel file) to assist in prioritizing these improvement efforts within an organization.
The MMOG/LE is a proven tool for supplier development and provides a recognized industry standard for suppliers who have been asked by customers to complete a self-assessment. Although it was developed by the automotive industry, QAD believes it can be a helpful benchmark tool for customers across many vertical markets.
Feedback from suppliers who have used the MMOG/LE has been very positive. Whether it was used internally to drive continuous improvement or externally, as a supplier development tool, suppliers report that the MMOG/LE increases their ability to develop the business systems necessary to assure customer satisfaction. Even better, MMOG/LE-inspired improvements free up time and can often be achieved at little or no cost.
