Logistics Provider: LBMX Extends Technology Alliance With Descartes

Descartes Systems Group, a global on-demand software-as-a-service (SaaS) logistics solutions provider, recently announced that LBMX Inc. has renewed its subscription to the Descartes Global Logistics Network (GLN) for logistics messaging.

LBMX provides group solutions – including electronic data interchange (EDI) services for buying groups, purchasing co-operatives, franchisors and their members – and has been using the Descartes GLN since 2004 to provide seamless connectivity between its customers and trading partners. LBMX renewed its subscription with Descartes since the company offered the most comprehensive messaging and connectivity service to meet its needs.

"LBMX will continue to expand over the next several years and Descartes is an important component of our growth plans." said Ian Gray, President of LBMX. "We also expect to grow our customer base beyond the current industries and geographic markets we currently serve. Descartes provides us with the support and services we require to effectively connect trading partners for value added network (VAN) based EDI communications, regardless of market sector or global location."

Descartes' GLN is one of the world's largest multimodal networks of transportation providers and their customers. It facilitates the interchange of logistics information and provides value-added application services that leverage this information to help enterprises standardize business processes and streamline their logistics operations. In addition to providing messaging services, the Descartes GLN helps companies better manage their logistics book-to-bill process, track inventory, meet regulatory requirements, optimize fleet performance, and effectively communicate with their logistics partners. Over 5,000 connected companies currently manage their shipments over the network.

"LBMX is focused on providing its customers with comprehensive solutions to interact seamlessly with their extended networks of partners and suppliers," said Scott Sangster, Vice President, Global Logistics Network at Descartes. "LBMX's continued use of the GLN reinforces the value Descartes delivers in facilitating the interchange of logistics information and helping streamline shipping operations."
