Logistics Hub: DHL's New Asia Pacific Logistics Division Headquarters Compliments Singapore's Mission To Be Leading Regional Logistics Hub
DHL, one of the leading express and logistics company, announced recently the relocation of the regional operations of its two logistics business units – DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Exel Supply Chain – to a single headquarters in Singapore to further enhance its internal efficiencies and strengthen its market leading position.
The DHL Logistics Division is the one of the global market leader in the air and ocean freight and contract logistics industry; and accounted for over €22 billion, or approximately 55% of DHL's global revenue in 2006. Through DHL Global Forwarding's customized logistics solutions and DHL Exel Supply Chain's contract logistics expertise, the company is able to provide customers the entire value chain from one source – an end-to-end supply chain service with a global platform for the full range of logistics requirements.

Iswaran, Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr Allan and the two regional CEOs; Mr Peter Landsiedel of DHL Global Forwarding and Mr Humberto Florez of DHL Exel Supply Chain. The new office also houses the group's Global Customer Solutions unit.
In Singapore, the regional headquarters has over 400 employees, entrusted with the responsibility to manage, monitor and expand the DHL Logistics Division operations in the Asia-Pacific region spanning 25 countries. A major responsibility of the regional headquarters is to ensure that all 25 countries connect seamlessly within the network and its regional counterparts to increase transparency, flexibility and service efficiency for customers. The DHL Logistics Division in Singapore has a combined staff strength of 2,200 employees and over 20 dedicated facilities, including a Healthcare and Life Sciences Hub, which specializes in handling and supporting clinical trials, cold-chain management, hospital logistics, temperature-controlled and dangerous goods storage.
