JDF Distribution Expands Third Party Logistics Operations In Houston
JDF Distribution recently announced the expansion of its Houston third-party logistics operations. To accommodate customer growth, a new facility of 75,000 square feet has been added in Prologis Park in Northwest Houston. This expansion brings JDF's total warehouse space in Houston to 100,000 square feet. Combined with JDF warehouse locations in Dallas, the company now operates close to 500,000 square feet of distribution space in Texas.
According to JDF Vice President & General Manager, Bill Evanson, this expansion is just the latest evidence of JDF's continued investment in Houston. "Houston has become an important distribution market due to the rapid expansion of the Port of Houston, increased cross-border trade with Mexico, and the city's low distribution costs compared to other major U.S. markets," he says. "Expansion of our third-party logistics services in Houston is critical to JDF's growth strategy. We will continue to expand, as needed, to meet our customer's demand for Houston logistics services."
Key features of JDF's Houston warehouse facilities:
- Advanced warehouse and inventory management system
- Over 25 dock doors and ramps
- 34-foot ceiling height clearance
- A fleet of company-owned trucks on site for local pick-up and delivery
- ESFR sprinkler system
- Digital cameras at all points of entry and motion tracking cameras on the building exterior
