IWLA Offers Essentials Of Warehouse Logistics
The IWLA – The Association for Logistics Outsourcing will hold its 27th annual "Essentials of Warehousing Logistics" course Oct. 27-31 at Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. This intensive, interactive course is broken into two tracks, and is the industry's premier, comprehensive educational event.
Essentials I is a week-long program that presents the latest trends in the industry while covering fundamentals that are vital to successful warehouse logistics management. It combines presentations and group exercises that allow attendees to be educated by industry practitioners and peers on topics such as: cost and rate development, warehouse law, human resource management, technology, transportation, sales and marketing, insurance and disaster recovery, safety and regulatory compliance, real estate, and much more.
Essentials II runs for three days and tackles higher level issues that build upon the sound foundation laid by the first track. Topics covered in this course include: strategic planning (including case studies), business ethics, leadership, conflict management, bankruptcy and litigation, financial statement analysis and more.
Anyone involved with the warehouse logistics industry is certain to benefit from this comprehensive educational event. Past attendees have included company presidents, managers, supervisors, sales personnel, human resource staff and new employees. The Essentials Course is required for those working toward the Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) designation.
Larry Boyle, general manager of Horizon Distribution Logistics LLC, Phoenix, AZ, and a past attendee of the course, says: "The Course was the most informative educational experience that I have ever had.
