INTTRA Expands Presence InTo Thailand To Meet Growing Market Demands For e-Commerce

INTTRA is pleased to announce the appointment of a Country Manager in Thailand to provide permanent support for INTTRA's multi-carrier, e-commerce shipping customers.

Todsapol Lertpanitboon has been named INTTRA's Thailand Country Manager and will maintain an office in Bangkok at Srinakarin Road.

"INTTRA, which has more than 240,000 container orders initiated on the platform each week globally, representing almost 10 percent of global container trade, has been active in Thailand since the company's inception in 2000," says Paul Stephen, INTTRA Managing Director, APAC region.

Thailand is a country where Stephen says INTTRA's "carrier partners have promoted the use of INTTRA's services with great success." For this reason, he says INTTRA is "now able to establish our own presence to further support this growing market. Thailand's export community is showing an increasing desire to use e-commerce, and we look forward to supporting both exporters and our carrier partners in 2008," he added.

Explained Kay Ren Yuh, INTTRA Sales Director for Southeast Asia, "Thailand's economy is reliant on export volumes, which account for 60 to 70 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. The expansion of Thailand's flagship industries, including agriculture, automotive, electronic and electrical goods, petrochemicals, textiles, jewelry and accessories, has resulted in a booming service sector in fields such as logistics, trading and the establishment of regional headquarters in the past four years."

Given the emphasis on global trade and the large number of local and foreign companies present in Thailand, plus many adopting business-to-business e-commerce as part of their business strategies, he said, it's not surprising that, "Thailand is one of INTTRA's most important markets in Southeast Asia."
