GeoLogistics Names New Italy CEO

N/A, Santa Ana, CA, has named Enrico Furgada chief operating officer of its company in Italy, GeoLogistics SpA.

Furgada has more than 30 years of logistics and freight-forwarding experience with GeoLogistics. He spent his first 11 years in logistics with Italian forwarder Castelletti, where he gained wide experience in all transport modes on export and import.

In 1978, Furgada founded Per Transport SpA, which he led for 20 years and sold to Union-Transport in 1998. When Furgada left the company at the end of 1999, Per Transport SpA had grown to have nine branches throughout Italy.

"We are pleased to add Enrico's strength to our European management team," Steve Finch, GeoLogistics chief executive offer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said. "We have a very positive view of the region and are confident he will ensure Italy's own contribution to growth."

Furgada is based at GeoLogistics SpA's office in Milan and reports to Finch. He replaces Philip Brown, who left to pursue other interests.
