DuPont will implement e-logistics solution

G-Log, the leading provider of Global Enterprise Transportation (GET) software, announced today that DuPont has selected G-Log's comprehensive transportation offerings to provide the infrastructure to optimize and manage their global and regional shipments.

"G-Log's e-logistics and transportation technology will be utilized by DuPont to improve logistics efficiency, provide order visibility, deliver superior customer service, decrease freight cost, and create a single centralized logistics data warehouse database for over one million complex multi-modal, multi-leg worldwide shipments per year," said Jerry Donnelly, Director of DuPont Global Logistics.

"The knowledge intensity of a unified global database will enable DuPont customers and businesses, freight forwarders, customs brokers, third-party logistics companies, and carriers to more accurately predict delivery dates and track the progress of shipments," Donnelly said. "Improved information will enable our customers and DuPont to reduce inventories and costs."

G-Log technology will enable DuPont to retire mainframe legacy applications and replace them with Internet-based technology that is less expensive to run and maintain. Logistics information will be accessible on a global basis, through an Internet browser, to those granted access, including customers and suppliers. DuPont businesses will have increased flexibility and better access to global logistics data, without higher information technology costs.

DuPont is the nation's largest exporter of containerized freight, exporting over 1.5 billion tons. Under the terms of the multi-year licensing agreement, G-Log will collaborate with DuPont Sourcing and Logistics to develop transportation systems solutions for deployment across DuPont business units, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and affiliates.

"This agreement marks an important milestone for G-Log", said Mitch Weseley, CEO of G-Log. "DuPont is one of the leading shippers in the world, with a truly visionary approach to the role of logistics in their businesses. By leveraging G-Log to gain competitive advantage and not just save money, DuPont is today doing what other large shippers will do in the future." Weseley added, "The G-Log team has worked hard to establish a leadership position in Global Enterprise Transportation solutions and we look forward to working with DuPont."

"In today's highly competitive environment, leading corporations such as DuPont are quickly realizing that investing in next generation logistics and transportation solutions will not only reduce distribution costs, but also improve customer satisfaction, a critical metric for success," according to Adrian Gonzalez, Senior Analyst at ARC Advisory Group. "The selection of G-log by DuPont shows that despite being relatively new to the market, G-Log's global enterprise transportation solution is capable of meeting the most demanding logistics requirements."
