DHL Gives Efficient Cargo Handling A Boost
- DHL Global Forwarding re-launches enhanced version of shipment management tool DHL Interactive (DHLi)
- IT solution offers convenient booking, tracking and instant reporting on shipments
DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL, has released an enhanced version of its web-based customer platform DHL Interactive (DHLi). Key improvements include increased information transparency and new design layout to improve ease of use. DHLi is globally available and can be accessed via every internet-enabled device.
“In today’s logistics world, sending shipments from multiple locations via different transport modes is a given. The enhanced DHL Interactive ensures customers real-time visibility of their air shipments and allows them to handle transport reports and other enquiries with ease. It is a great tool for customers with regular business and the demand for high visibility along their supply chain”, said Michael Young, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, DHL Global Forwarding.
DHLi offers customers a range of services for handling their consignments. Users can book shipments at www.dhli.dhl.com and also request documents such as certificates of origin, consular invoices and letters of credit. Furthermore, customers can use booking templates, request instant house bill (HB) numbers, and can create a commercial invoice and pack list via the DHLi booking function.
Real-time visibility
The track and trace module also provides real-time visibility of air shipments with detailed information on goods and their shipping status. Additionally, customers can request alerts for chosen shipment stages such as the “POD” (Point Of Delivery), and the tool’s report function allows customers to compile comprehensive information on up to one year of shipment history.
Third party members, like customers or suppliers of DHL Global Forwarding customer’s, can be invited by access control, while the document repository function enables customers to easily share documents. As a web-based platform, DHL Interactive requires no IT set-up and can be accessed even away from the desk. The platform is available today in 14 languages and provided at no additional cost.
