DHL Clinches Chevron Contract For A Further Three Years

DHL Exel Supply Chain, the world's leading logistics company, recently announced that it has secured a contract with Chevron to deliver fuel to hospitals, airports and Texaco-branded forecourts throughout the Republic of Ireland for the next three years. 30 articulated vehicles will transport over 200 million gallons of fuel per annum and 48 drivers are dedicated to the contract.

DHL has been working with Chevron in Ireland since 1989 and was awarded the ongoing contract because of its past performance and strong health and safety record and risk reduction procedures. Additionally, DHL Express is preferred small package carrier for Chevron in the U.S. and throughout the world, handling express delivery of all urgent materials to and from refineries, Chevron corporate offices, retail locations, and vendors.

Ivan Hawthorne, Business Director, DHL Exel Supply Chain, said: "This contract, and our past performance with health and safety, is testament to the level of service we deliver to our customers year-on-year. Our drivers and employees are comprehensively trained to effectively manage this specialist distribution business and we're delighted to be building on our existing relationship with Chevron."

Mark While, Manager Logistics Europe for Chevron, said: "We look for suppliers that understand our business, are willing to invest in innovation and improvements and are able to deliver to key locations such as hospitals and airports - DHL provides this for us. DHL's distribution model has been cost effective whilst having safety processes that give us peace of mind."
