ProModel, a provider of predictive analysis business intelligence software and services, recently announced that "Readiness 2007," the firm's inaugural conference on readiness for the defense, manufacturing and logistics industries, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, November 13-14, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Microsoft Conference Center in Reston, Va.
The theme of Readiness 2007 is "Using Simulation to Achieve Readiness for the Department of Defense and the Manufacturing & Logistics Industries," and will focus on training, maintaining, and sustaining the elements needed to meet mission-critical organizational goals. Topics that will be discussed include: improving Six Sigma program effectiveness; valuing and prioritizing Lean projects; improving response time to customers; resource capacity planning for facilitating mission and project execution; and maintaining full-spectrum training capability for soldiers.
"This is a great opportunity for Department of Defense personnel to meet and network with leaders in manufacturing and logistics to share challenges, exchange ideas, and explore predictive analytic solutions for improving the readiness of their organizations," says Keith Vadas, President and CEO of ProModel, which provides simulation technology to vertical markets, including defense, manufacturing, and logistics. "Together, we can learn from each other and work together to apply simulation technology to today's battles, and predict, prepare for, and prevent those we will face tomorrow."
The event will feature presentations by industry authorities, including: LTC Rob Shearer, The Center for Army Analysis (CAA); Valerie Esser, United Space Alliance; Monte See, V&M Star; Julien Granger, Praxair; Fred Rawcliffe, U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM); David A. Trucker, United Space Alliance; Terry Wilcox, CH2MHill,Port Authority of New York & New Jersey; Ron Frank, TeleCommunication Systems (TCS); and Chris Steckel, Lehigh Valley Plastics.
Readiness 2007 will also feature two pre-conference workshops led by ProModel executives to help attendees reach better decisions faster, improve their ROI, and provide the organizational capability to solve tomorrow's problems:
- Simulation Powers, Lean, and Six Sigma will be presented by Bruce Gladwin, Vice President of ProModel Consulting Services and a Six Sigma Black Belt. This workshop will discuss how simulation technology should be used in conjunction with Six Sigma and Lean to drive process and improve performance.
- Simulation for Strategic Resource, Project & Portfolio Planning will be presented by Matt Hodson, Senior Consultant, ProModel Manufacturing & Logistics Solutions. At this workshop, attendees will work together to determine how organizations can close the gap between strategic and operational planning, the process improvements to help meet future goals, using simulation technology to create initiatives that will provide financial value to an organization, and more.
