China Southern Airlines launches New York to China cargo service
China Southern Airlines, China's largest carrier, said it has opened a cargo drop-off station at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City that offers connecting freight service to China.
The airline said that to connect with its 747-400 flights from Chicago to Shenzhen, China, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday, shipments must be dropped off before the 6 p.m. cut the day before departure. The drop-off point is in JFK's Hangar 15 at Alliance Airlines, China Southern's ground handler at the airport. China Southern said that all shipments received before 6 p.m. would be trucked to Chicago the same night.
"Our New York City-China service is a fantastic way for East Coast-based shippers to have a direct cargo connection service from New York City to Southern China," Wayne Chen, general manager of China Southern Airlines' Chicago office, said.
