Cadbury Schweppes Selects GeoLogistics For Single-Source Americas Agreement
GeoLogistics Corporation, a leading transportation and logistics company, has been named by Cadbury Schweppes as their ocean export freight services provider for the company's Americas region.
Cadbury Schweppes, based in Birmingham, England, is one of the world's largest beverage and confectionery companies, with such other icon brands as Adams Candy, Canada Dry, Dr Pepper, Mott's, Certs, Dentyne, Trident, Snapple and Seven Up.
GeoLogistics was selected for shipment of both ingredients and finished products within the region and exported from the Americas. It is estimated that over half of Cadbury Schweppes' worldwide shipping volume is conducted in the Americas region.
The agreement focuses heavily on Full-Container Load ocean shipments and makes GeoLogistics responsible for managing all transport and custom clearance requirements, door-to-door from supplier to plants, warehouses and distribution centers. The alliance also includes Less-than-Container Loads and airfreight services exported from Cadbury's Americas' facilities.
GeoLogistics has served Cadbury Schweppes' in Europe and in the Americas for some time. This Cadbury Schweppes appointment of GeoLogistics significantly increases the volumes expedited by GeoLogistics. The alliance was formalized following an intensive review of the industry's best global logistics providers.
"We know GeoLogistics' high quality service and we were impressed with its expansive global network, alliances and service centers," said Stephen Harrington, Director - Supply Chain & NPS Procurement of Cadbury Schweppes's Americas regional headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. "They demonstrated creativity, cost savings and have excellent, established relationships in our key areas throughout this large and important region," Harrington said.
The agreement covers multiple North, Central and South America trade lanes linked to, among others, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, New York and Toronto. Cadbury Schweppes' major South America facilities are located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
"We demonstrated to Cadbury Schweppes how the GeoLogistics transportation and logistics solutions will save time, reduce costs and improve service quality," said Bill Flynn, CEO, GeoLogistics. "We're delighted to have this great global company as a client and look forward to delivering to them the highest service quality and value."
