American Airlines Cargo Broadcasts On Demand Webinar On "New Air Cargo Screening Mandates: The Next 50 Percent"

American Airlines Cargo Division (AA Cargo) is broadcasting a free on demand audio Webinar on "New Cargo Screening Mandates: The Next 50 Percent". The educational session will highlight insights from some of the industry's top aviation and security experts who participated in a panel discussion at AirCargo 2009 last month. Paul Page, editorial director at The Journal of Commerce, will moderate the Webinar that will include newly released interviews with the panelists, who include:

  • The Honorable Asa Hutchinson, former Under Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and Chairman of the Safe Commerce Coalition
  • Dave Brooks, President, American Airlines Cargo

The airline industry recently met the government's deadline to screen 50 percent of all cargo aboard passenger aircraft, and is now facing the challenge of meeting the 2010 deadline for 100 percent screening. Panelists will discuss how the screening mandate has impacted the supply chain and will look forward to address: The industry's ability to maintain its effectiveness and efficiency as the 100 percent deadline nears;

  • How will the new ruling impacts businesses and consumers dependent upon just-in-time delivery; and,
  • Innovative operational, security and financial steps being taken to meet the mandate.
