Agility DGS Wins AAFES Logistics Exceptional Service Award

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS) received the Army and Air Force Exchange Service's (AAFES) "Logistics Exceptional Service Award in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008."

The award was presented to Agility on October 3rd at the annual AAFES Logistics Forum: Building Powerful Partnerships, held in Dallas, Texas. AAFES, a joint Army and Air Force command, is an agency within the United States Department of Defense. It operates retail stores, fast food restaurants, shoppettes, theaters and specialty sales outlets in support of its global mission.

Agility received the award for a sustained effective and efficient supply solution that provides transportation and warehouse services to stores in Iraq providing a "taste of home" to the American troops. Partnering with Agility, AAFES realized a substantial reduction in both the cost of logistics and times in transit. AAFES also lowered its inventory investment and improved its in-stock conditions at its stores.
