Accessory Concepts Inc. Goes Live With Tecsys' Web-Based EliteSeries 7.1 With Access To 15,000 Locations

MONTREAL, Sept. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - TECSYS Inc. (TSX: TCS), a leading Supply Chain Management (SCM) software provider, announced today that it has completed the implementation of EliteSeries release 7.1 for Accessory Concepts Inc. (ACI), upgrading the company with these leading-edge modules. TECSYS' enterprise distribution applications suite will provide ACI with the technological edge, strategic processes and information to meet and exceed the company's ever-growing and complex distribution requirements. "Although we've been an EliteSeries user for many years and it has been an integral part of our growth and success, we still searched the market extensively to see if other applications could fully meet our needs. In the end, TECSYS was still ahead of the competition because of its fully integrated suite and the technological advantage the Web-based EliteSeries 7.1 allows us to offer our vendors and suppliers. TECSYS' superior support and the level of industry knowledge of their support personnel has made this a winning combination," stated Helder Valentim, IT Manager of ACI. "TECSYS enabled us to upgrade seamlessly and continue with our business with virtually no interruptions. EliteSeries has helped us stay on top of our inventory and monitor our product strategies and programs." ACI markets a wide variety of fashion accessories and deals with virtually every major retailer as well as specialty and convenience stores across Canada. It sells to large chain stores such as Wal-Mart, Sears, The Bay, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs and Pharma Plus, to name a few. ACI not only deals with the distribution centers of these large chains, but also offers vendor-managed inventory programs at over 15,000 locations. As ACI continues to experience high growth at a rate of over 20% per year, the company has also increased the number of products it offers through its network. This growth has required ACI to look for new premises, as well as to re-evaluate its mission-critical applications. The company re-invested in EliteSeries because of its comprehensive Web functionality, its ease of conversion, TECSYS' industry knowledge and the fully integrated nature of this end-to-end suite. Peter Brereton, TECSYS' President and Co-CEO, commenting on the upgrade, stated that, "EliteSeries continues to demonstrate TECSYS' ability to offer companies a sound, fully integrated and technologically advanced business solution. Customers like ACI, who started with the core EliteSeries Distribution module, have evolved and are now adding the rest of the suite without any concerns about integrating with warehouse management or transportation management solutions. ACI is utilizing release 7.1, which was made available earlier this year, and demonstrates our ability to migrate our customers to new technologies quickly and seamlessly." EliteSeries is now implemented at ACI's location in Mississauga, Ontario, running on IBM AIX and IBM's industrial strength pSeries servers, with the IBM/Informix relational database for its application server and the IBM xSeries for its Web portal.
