DST's goal is to provide our customers with tools that they can use to make a difference in their business. It starts with the DST Mission Statement and follows through with software tools such as the single screen sales order entry, latest database and Internet technology. Our flexibility is both an attitude and a basis for our product design.

DST's roots in IBM computer systems for automotive and heavy equipment dealerships reach back to 1976, with DCS in England. In 1988 DCS launched DST with Coloradan Ray Stover who shared an expertise in database applications for parts and hard good distribution. DST introduced the DCS product suite for the IBM S/36 and S/38 in 1988, updated later that year for the new IBM Industry specific AS/400 software.

The initial success in the automotive aftermarket spurred further development with a complete re-write of the software in "native" AS/400 code. The new parts and inventory management system debuted in 1995 offering enhanced ease of use, flexibility for large geographically spread organizations, and single-screen speed and flexibility in sales order entry. The first upgrade and workshop management software were released in 1996.

From headquarters in Irvine, California, DST has expanded with sales offices in Northern California, Salt Lake City, and Boston, North Carolina. In 1998 Vitech was acquired to support franchise stores and dealers and utilize Internet based technology to communicate and integrate store operations. In 1998, DST acquired Basset and Associates, with a specialty in data analysis and data warehouse for the aftermarket. A partnership with Drive Train Industries of Denver linked state-of-the-art warehouse management software with the DST system.

For outstanding customer satisfaction, sales growth and technical certification, IBM awarded DST Premier Business Partner status in 1999. Today, DST customers include importers, exporters, WD's and chains in the automotive and heavy duty industries.
