Inverter for Large Load Turning

This new heavy-duty Upender-Inverter featuring 90°and 180° rotation was developed for smooth, precision-positioning of large heavy loads, from horizontal to vertical position, or from horizontal to upside down (180°).

The unit can be equipped with a roller conveyor so that the load can be guided in automatically, then gently clamped together with the hydraulically operated scissor platform. The load can then be inverted 180°to the upside-down position and automatically exit on the powered roller conveyor. The rotation is electro-mechanically operated, driven by a gearbox for reduced speed. The circular structure rides on precision built cam-followers and roller bearings for smooth uniform rotation.

The load can enter and exit from the front or either of the two sides. Larger loads can protrude or overhang on either side if necessary. Available platform sizes are W48- × D48-in., W72- × D48-in., or 96- × D60-in. with throat openings of 48-, 62-, and 74in., respectively. The units are available in 2,000-, 4,000-, 6,000-, and 10,000-lb capacities. They are electrically operated with 220/440V.

The units are constructed of heavy-duty welded steel for industrial use. They are well suited for inverting molds, castings, pallets, plywood sheets, glass, printed materials, and other flat surfaces in the manufacturing process. In addition, it can invert 4- × 8- × 4-ft high stock material all at once, saving time and preventing worker fatigue.
