Hands-free Mobile Transaction Computer Terminal

The VTC-303 is a hands-free, eyes-free, mobile transaction computer terminal for manufacturing, distribution, and transportation operations. The unit is a member of the manufacturer's TechWear family of products and was developed jointly with a leading supplier of industrial speech recognition systems.

Using an advanced speech recognition and speech synthesis technology, the terminal allows enables workers to communicate with their distribution or manufacturing automation system. The compact, portable design uses battery power and wireless spread spectrum radios to provide reliable, two-way digital communications with a host computer system. The terminal also accepts barcode inputs and can connect to a portable label printer.

The manufacturer states that the terminal works well in noisy environments, integrates into most operating systems, and is compatible with any speech dialect or accent. Applications include warehouse receiving, warehouse picking, distribution orders, material handling, inspection, parcel sorting, transportation, and manufacturing.
