Transportation.Com Partners With E-Commerce Leaders To Support Internet Transportation Marketplace

Alliances with OpenSite Technologies, PeopleSupport and Critical Path provide online solutions for global transportation customers

Transportation.com, an online transportation marketplace for shippers, carriers and private fleet operators, announced three strategic relationships with OpenSite Technologies, Inc., PeopleSupport, Inc. and Critical Path, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPTH). These companies will provide the leading Internet solutions to support the global distribution needs for customers at Transportation.com. The business-to-business venture anticipates a second quarter launch.

The auction site will use dynamic pricing technology, with increasing prices and a deadline for each item. Bids will be awarded according to ranking by highest price, largest quantity and earliest posted bid time. In addition, Transportation.com customers will be able to use the AutoBid function, which automatically increases customer bids as necessary up to the maximum amount specified. This technology allows customers to raise bids and win auctions even when bidders are away from their computers.

PeopleSupport will provide online customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across all available online interactive channels. These channels include e-mail, one-to-one voice chats and real-time interactive text chats.
