Logisight Corp. and Transtec Software Corp. Extend "Real-Time, Anytime" Model to Freight Forwarding Document and Data Management
May 10, 2001
In a joint development initiative, Transtec Software Corp. and Logisight Corp. will equip international freight forwarders and their corporate clients with seamless data exchange and transaction management, as well as "real-time, anytime" access to all documents and data involved in the complex process of international trade.
Under the terms of the agreement, Transtec will gain access to Logisight's real-time, web-native transaction and document management system, underscoring and accelerating Transtec's commitment to providing world-class transaction management services to the freight forwarding and 3PL community. This jointly developed offering will electronically unify the entire process from customer order placement, through documentation and forms management, shipment tracking, clearance and delivery – all within a secure, on-line community.
According to Bill Gottlieb, President of David Kirsch Forwarders Ltd., and Chairman, FIATA Air Institute, "in this age of electronic commerce, I cringe every time we have to manually re-key data, print off documents to be faxed or mailed, or have to manually hunt down order status for a customer. The Transtec/Logisight offering delivers the promise of a highly productive, paperless process that creates visibility for everyone involved."
Commenting on the alliance, Brent Cisco, President of Transtec Software Corp. said "we selected Logisight for their superior web-based, collaborative commerce engine, and their ability to offer integration and customization services to clients on a global scale. Allying with Logisight helps us fast track the delivery of integrated transaction and document management to our forwarding clients, and full visibility for all participants in the international trade process." Initially, trading partners in North America and the European Union will be involved, and soon, all trading partners in the G7 countries will be able to participate in this exciting new concept.
Peter Gergo, President and CEO of Logisight Corp noted, "it's truly a win-win-win situation. Clearly, Transtec and the international freight forwarding community win by accelerating their access to seamless transaction integration and real-time visibility. However, this alliance is a very important new marketing channel for Logisight. With approximately 450 corporate clients presently using the Transtec software, this alliance opens up exciting new business opportunities for us within the freight forwarding market."
