Madison, IN—Grote Industries' new Turtle-Back II PC-Rated LED Clearance/Marker Lamps allow fleets to outfit their trailers with fewer lamps, brackets and pigtails, resulting in considerable cost savings. Because the lamps meet the SAE PC rating, only one lamp is required at each front corner instead of two. By utilizing the PC rating, fleets can mount these lamps at a 45-degree angle and eliminate one lamp per corner.

With these Turtle-Back II PC-rated lamps, we've cut in half the number of lamps fleets need to mark the top corners of their trailers," said Dominic Grote, marketing manager of Grote Industries. "By eliminating these lights and related components on every trailer and installing long-lasting SuperNova LED lamps, fleets will see a significant improvement in their cost per mile."

The PC-rated lamps use light-emitting diodes that are mounted to three circuit boards to spread the light in the 180-degree arc that is necessary to cover the corner and meet the PC photometric requirement. All three of the circuit boards are individually potted to provide vibration and moisture resistance. To further ensure maximum protection from dirt, dust, and moisture, the lens is vibration welded to the housing for a permanent seal.
