Casestack Planning Office In Fayetteville, Arkansas
CaseStack, a leading logistics provider and one of America's fastest-growing companies, announced recently that it plans to open a new office in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
"We pioneered easy-to-use technology that made it efficient for us to consolidate consumer goods nationwide to retailers. Now, it is time to break new ground again," stated CaseStack CEO Dan Sanker.
CaseStack believes that Northwest Arkansas is becoming the global hub for the next generation of ideas in sustainability, supply chain and consumer packaged goods; much like the way Detroit created the auto industry or Silicon Valley dominates technology. Sanker believes in it strongly enough to move his family to Fayetteville to pursue the vision of opening a CaseStack office that will serve as something of a CPG Supply Chain Innovation Center. CaseStack is not alone; more 1,300 suppliers have opened area offices and most have included senior executives.
CaseStack consolidates clients' products by combining many separate deliveries heading to the same distribution center, store or region into one full truckload delivery. They are able to accomplish this through a national network of warehouses that delivers to most US retailers, as well as Wal-Mart. The company hopes to use the central US location as a knowledge-sharing hub to work with many retailers, suppliers, logistics companies and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
CaseStack has a long-standing connection to the University of Arkansas and the Center for Retailing Excellence at the Sam M. Walton College of Business. The Company is beginning its third year as a member of the Center's executive board of directors, and Sanker is providing his expertise to the New Initiatives Committee. The closer proximity will allow CaseStack to participate in more student programs as well as support industry initiatives of the Center. Center Director Claudia Mobley is not surprised by CaseStack's decision to move to Northwest Arkansas. "Dan is a dedicated business partner who believes in shaping the future of the industry through his support of higher education," she says.
Voted one of the greenest small cities in the country, Fayetteville also fits comfortably into CaseStack's sustainability agenda. CaseStack's "Delivered Green" program, which utilizes retailer-driven consolidation and biodiesel fuel, has saved more than 24 million pounds in CO2 emissions as well $2.2M in diesel fuel spending each year.
Fayetteville Mayor Dan Coody believes that this is exactly the type of new business development the city wants to attract. "I couldn't be more thrilled to have them in Fayetteville," says Coody. "CaseStack is focused on leading their industry into the future of sustainability and the city of Fayetteville has been recognized as a great place for that future to begin. In my mind, it is the perfect match."
In the next few months, CaseStack will be evaluating the possibility of opening an office in the heart of Fayetteville, with plans for future expansion. It will be CaseStack's largest initiative since its 2006 acquisition of AtomicBox Logistics -- a strategic move that has launched it into the fast-growing area of value-added logistics services.
